Survey Question: Which issues will impact your vote?

Our grassroots survey asked the question: . Which of the following issues will impact the candidates you support in the upcoming primary elections (check ALL that apply)?

Responses:
Taxes - 84.5%
Immigration - 82.9%
Candidate's personal integrity / character - 82.3%
Government spending - 81.8%
War on Terror - 73.8%
Abortion - 47.0%
Eminent domain amendment - 53.3%
Marriage amendment - 43.1%
Electability - 37.0%
Healthcare - 36.5%
Education - 34.8%

Three survey participants skipped the question.

Other issues mentioned in respondents' comments include Second Amendment rights (an issue that, in hindsight, we should have included in the list), Homeland Security, honest support for the Constitution, appointments to the Federal judiciary, roads and infrastructure and energy independence.

Narrowing it down: When asked to select the ONE issue from the same list that would MOST impact their vote in the upcoming primaries, respondents answered as follows:
Immigration - 22.5%
Candidate's personal integrity / character - 20.2%
War on Terror - 15.4%
Government spending - 14.5%

No other issue polled above 10%. Fourteen survey participants skipped the question.

Other issues mentioned in respondents' comments included adherence to the Constitution, energy independence and "If a person has true integrity and is of real character the other issues will be addressed by him appropriately."
